History of Giving
From the very first funds raised by the local community under the leadership of Tan Jiak Kim that allowed NUS’ predecessor institution to open as a medical school in 1905; to landmark gifts to public health, medicine and music; and the annual gifts from alumni, students and friends to support students through bursaries and scholarships, philanthropic gifts have shaped NUS’ history and helped determine our success.
Education is a good avenue to lift people out of the vicious cycle of poverty. By making a gift to the University, you can help generations of students long after you are gone.
