These initiatives present urgent funding priorities for the University which will require private support.

University Town – Education for a global generation.

NUS University Town (UTown) offers a new academic experience, combining campus living with multidisciplinary programmes to nurture a new generation of leaders  for tomorrow’s interconnected world.

 University Town graduates will be responsible global citizens capable of tackling complex problems that affect Asia and the world. Adjacent to the Kent Ridge campus, University Town creates an environment where living and learning are entwined.

Global Asia Institute – Seeking solutions to critical issues in Asia.

Asia’s rapid economic rise is improving the lives of countless people. But its dramatic growth is also creating severe challenges, ranging from environmental sustainability, public health, to income inequalities and financial security. These challenges are highly complex, interlinked and cross many sectors and knowledge domains.

To address them adequately, we will require fresh approaches and solutions. NUS Global Asia Institute will provide an integrative, holistic new platform, bringing together the full range of expertise from engineering and design to social sciences and public policy that exists within NUS, as well as in other centres in and outside Asia, to find solutions to these critical issues.

NUS believes in supporting dynamic individuals with the intellect and drive for global success in their respective fields. Students demonstrating outstanding academic achievements, leadership and special talents may be awarded one of several undergraduate scholarships. Scholarships are an important means of retaining and attracting exceptional Singaporeans and international students to receive the finest education possible.

While NUS Bursaries provide eligible students with financial support and enriched learning opportunities, so they may receive a globally recognized degree. NUS is committed to a needs-blind, merit-based admission policy ensuring no deserving student is denied admission because of financial difficulty.
