ICH GROUP BURSARY (2012)
Founded in 2000 by Mr Danny Toe, ICH is a leading investment firm headquartered in Singapore. The Group invests globally in unique and promising enterprises directly, as well as through private equity and venture capital funds. Its key markets reside in America and Asia.
Mr Toe’s generous donation to his alma mater is aimed at nurturing future leaders and professionals. Despite growing up in poverty, he overcame immense adversity to graduate with First Class Honours in Engineering at NUS. Mr Toe hopes that the gift can benefit generations of underprivileged and aspiring individuals.
IDEM SINGAPORE BURSARY (2012)
IDEM Singapore is the No. 1 dental event in the Asia-Pacific region, showcasing the very best of clinical dental practice, innovative technique and emerging biomaterials. The event has been jointly organised by Koelnmesse Pte Ltd and the Singapore Dental Association since its inception in 2000.
The IDEM Singapore Bursary, established by NUS in 2012, is supported by a gift from Koelnmesse for the advancement of education in the field of dentistry. The Bursary supports one disadvantaged and deserving student annually.
INDONESIANS FOR INDONESIANS BURSARY (2015)
Indonesia and Singapore have long been important partners in trade and commerce, education, culture and other areas. An international education, with an Asian perspective, at NUS will both help Indonesian students be future-ready for the challenges of tomorrow and continue to grow the relationship between the two nations and their people.
The Bursary is supported by Indonesian alumni and friends wishing to support fellow Indonesians in completing their tertiary education in NUS.
IRENE HO-SENG WAI LENG MEMORIAL BURSARY(2015)
The late Mdm Irene Seng Wai Leng was the wife of Mr Ho Nai Chuen, President of Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) since 2000 and an active community leader from Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Constituency.
As an alumnus of the NUS Business School, Mr Ho, with his children Eugene Ho Kok Jun and Elena Ho Yan Yee, made a gift in memory of his wife and their dear mother. In recognition of the gift, NUS established the Irene Ho-Seng Wai Leng Memorial Bursary, which assists financially disadvantaged Business School students.
ISABEL CHNG MUI LIN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY BOOK GRANT (2013)
The late Isabel Chng Mui Lin was amongst those who played a pivotal role in the establishment of Singapore’s patent system. Highly regarded for her patent expertise, she had a zest for life which inspired others. Sadly, she passed away in 2012 after a long battle with cancer.
To commemorate her contributions and honour her memory, her friends and colleagues made a gift to NUS. The Isabel Chng Mui Lin Intellectual Property Book Grant was established to aid needy NUS Law students.
